ON MARCH 11, 2014, THE BURBANK CITY COUNCIL APPROVED THE IKEA PROJECT, CERTIFIED THE RELATED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT, AND ADOPTED A STATEMENT OF OVERRIDING CONSIDERATIONS.
In November 2012, a Development Review, Planned Development, Development Agreement, General Plan Amendment, and Vesting Tentative Tract Map application was submitted to construct a 470,000 square foot IKEA retail store with 1,726 parking spaces located at 805 S. San Fernando Boulevard. The proposed project includes the extension of First Street from Santa Anita Avenue to the project site. The project site encompasses approximately 22.9 acres and is currently zoned BCCM Burbank Center Commercial Manufacturing. This is a proposed relocation of the existing Burbank IKEA store that is 242,000 square feet and was opened in November 1990.
Below you will find the application, plans, and environmental documents for the proposed project:
A Final Environmental Impact Report was prepared for this project and is available for review. Click here to review the Final EIR, and the CEQA Findings and Statement of Overriding Considerations.
