“The City of Burbank believes that all people regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, and religion should be able to live in dignity, freedom, and equality without fear of destruction.

The Burbank City Council unequivocally denounces all forms of hate, intolerance, and violence.

The Burbank City Council advocates for peace, safety, dignity, freedom, and equality for all people, striving to be a city which leads the way in pluralism, inclusivity, and understanding.

The City of Burbank is a unique place where we seek to foster a culture of fair treatment, inclusion, respect, and fundamental freedoms. We stand united with our community against identity-based hate and all acts of violence.

The City supports peaceful diplomacy and an end to the conflict that honors all peoples’ right to dignity, safety, justice, and self-determination.

For the past few months, members of our community have called on our city to express its unequivocal support for the Palestinian American, Israeli American, Jewish, Arab, and Muslim community members, and all who are affected due to the escalated conflict in the middle east at this time.

In solidarity with our community, the City of Burbank supports calls for a unanimous and immediate peace and a mutual permanent ceasefire between all of the parties engaged in the Gaza conflict.

The City of Burbank further supports the immediate release of all hostages; the return of the bodies of victims of Hamas’ October 7 attack on innocent civilians; the release of prisoners of war; the unrestricted entry of humanitarian assistance into Gaza, including restored funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency; the restoration of food, water, electricity and medical supplies to Gaza; and an immediate respect for international law by all parties.

Finally, the City of Burbank vehemently condemns all acts of Antisemitism and Islamophobia as they have no place in our society.

This is a time to come together and prioritize the wellbeing of our community as we continue to coexist, work, and thrive together.”
