Burbank Restaurants Are Back, It’s Time to Chow Down
The Burbank Chamber of Commerce and the City of Burbank present
a citywide campaign to support local restaurants
Burbank, CA (July 1, 2021) - The Burbank Chamber of Commerce and City of Burbank are thrilled to announce the launch of Chow Down Burbank, a 90-day initiative that supports Burbank restaurants by adding extra incentives for diners to eat out, dine in and win! Diners will have the opportunity to enter a monthly contest by uploading or tagging photos of themselves patronizing participating Burbank eateries. Monthly prizes include Studio tours, hotel stays, and premium event tickets. Patrons can also enter the contest without purchase by signing up for the Chow Down Burbank email newsletter at chowdownburbank.com.
“Burbank is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, drinks, late-night snacks, and everything in between,” said Jamie Keyser, CEO of the Burbank Chamber of Commerce. “The state and our city are open for business. Now, more than ever, our community of restaurants needs support from their neighbors to keep Burbank thriving and dining.”
Burbank restaurants continue to suffer from the pandemic reporting decreases in sales ranging from 20% to 60%, since late 2020. Employment in the sector is also down compared to pre-March 2020 levels. As a result, several restaurants in the surrounding area have closed permanently.
The Chow Down Burbank marketing campaign and contest is an exciting partnership between the City and the Chamber of Commerce to encourage visitors to support Burbank restaurants,” said City of Burbank Mayor Bob Frutos. “This unique program gives restaurants the opportunity to gain free marketing, attract new customers, and a chance for patrons to win cool prizes just for dining at participating businesses!”
According to the CDC, vaccinated individuals can visit restaurants without masks, although following each location’s specific rules is still required. Unvaccinated individuals should continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Chow Down Burbank is sponsored by the Anheuser-Busch, Burbank marketing firm Counterintuity, and the restaurant apps ChowNow and Trufl.

About Chow Down Burbank
The purpose of the Chow Down Burbank marketing campaign is to encourage diners to patronize various restaurants within Burbank throughout this summer. Restaurants have been hit HARD during the pandemic, and now that things are opening up, we want you to play a part in supporting these important small businesses.
We're asking everyone who can to do their part and support our local restaurants by eating out or ordering take- out 5 times, each month, throughout the summer. That's 1 breakfast, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners through the end of September. Every time you visit a participating restaurant you can upload or tag a photo of yourself and be entered to win — diners can enter up to three times per day on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter or by uploading their photo through Chow Down Burbank’s social media and website.
This is a great excuse to try the eclectic variety of cuisines Burbank offers! Bring your friends, and visit spots you've never been to before, try the house specialties and the items named after the restaurant or all the pancakes in town — whatever works for you.
Rules
Each person in a household can enter the contest up to three times per day. Individuals can also get one entry to the contest by signing up for the Chow Down Burbank email newsletter. City of Burbank and Burbank Chamber of Commerce employees are ineligible for the contest.
Want to order food online? That’s great! You can pre-order from many of your favorite restaurants at the contest website using Chow Now. Some restaurants also offer meal delivery and catering options.
