City of Burbank Launches Community Engagement for Urban Forest Master Plan

Burbank, CA (April 24, 2025)—The City of Burbank is launching an initiative to create a more sustainable and vibrant urban forest for future generations. The City is developing an Urban Forest Master Plan (UFMP), a long-term strategy for the care, preservation, and growth of Burbank’s trees and green spaces.

Your Voice Matters:
To help shape this essential plan, the City of Burbank invites the community to share their thoughts and ideas by participating in future community meetings and completing the UFMP Community Survey. Your feedback will ensure the plan reflects our community's diverse values, experiences, and priorities.

How to Participate:

  • The online survey is now available at www.BurbankCA.gov/UrbanForestMasterPlan.
  • Join us for two upcoming in-person pop-up events:
    • Burbank Farmers Market on April 26 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    • Earth Day Celebration at Foy Park on April 26 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Dates and details of future community meetings will be shared on the project webpage.

The survey will remain open for responses through August 31, 2025, and your participation will ensure that we develop a plan that supports a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Burbank.

Trees play a vital role in our community’s health and well-being, providing shade, improving air quality, enhancing the beauty of our neighborhoods, and fostering a deeper connection to nature. Burbank is home to approximately 33,000 trees, including 28,000 in parkways and 5,000 in parks, all of which contribute to our City’s environmental and aesthetic value. The UFMP will help guide future decisions on planting, maintaining, and protecting trees, ensuring that all neighborhoods benefit from a thriving and healthy urban forest.
