City of Burbank to Receive $475,000 in Federal Funding
Burbank, CA (March 25, 2022) – President Biden signed the Government Funding Legislation, Community Project Funds (CPF) into law. CPF is a new initiative started in FY22 that allows Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. Senator Diane Feinstein and Congressman Adam Schiff successfully secured $225,000 of this federal funding to support Burbank community projects.
The federal funding awarded to Burbank will fund two vital community projects. The Burbank Public Library will receive $250,000 for Burbank’s Enhanced Workforce Training for Economic Recovery Project, designed to assist job seekers in successfully transitioning into the post-pandemic world. And, $225,000 is for replacing the Burbank Fire Department’s obsolete water tender with a new vehicle which will serve as a regional asset for urban and wildland fire suppression services.
“On behalf of the entire City Council, Burbank is grateful for the continued support of Senator Feinstein and Congressman Schiff, and for securing these funds,” said Mayor Jess Talamantes. “Thanks to their advocacy, Burbank can enhance community projects that will address our City’s needs.”
