Community Invited to Neighborhood Tour in the Burbank Rancho Neighborhood

Burbank, CA (April 23, 2025) – The City of Burbank invites the community to take part in a neighborhood tour on Saturday, May 10 from 8:00 a.m.  - 1:00 p.m., as part of ongoing efforts to gather community input on the Burbank Rancho Neighborhood Specific Plan (RNSP). Attendees are welcome to join on foot, or on bicycle.  And if you happen to ride by one of our checkpoints on your horse, please come talk to us!

During the immersive, family-friendly event, community members can check-in at the starting location of their preferred tour, or both, to pick up a route map. The neighborhood tour will ask participants to share how they engage with the Rancho and ask for ideas to help shape the community vision for the RNSP. Input provided will shape planning for the future of the Rancho neighborhood—public spaces, mobility, land use, and more.

When: Saturday, May 10, 2025
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (Drop by anytime)
Where: Start at either check in station. Choose one tour or join us for both! There will be ample time to complete both.

East Rancho Tour: Mountain View Park – 1401 W Riverside Dr. Burbank, CA 91506
West Rancho Tour: Buena Vista Park – Corner of W. Riverside Dr. and Bob Hope Dr., Burbank, CA 91505

The tour is the first community outreach event for the RNSP and will help to kick-off the first phase of the project, Analysis and Visioning. Additional community workshops and pop-up events will be held in the coming months. Upon its completion, the city intends for the RNSP to result in, at a minimum, the following:

  • Establishment of objective standards that are aligned with the community’s vision, including balancing demands for responsible development, retaining local control, and preservation of the equestrian lifestyle
  • Incorporation of the City’s Complete Our Streets Plan Equestrian Design Guidelines
  • Possible rezoning of land to comply with applicable state and local housing and land use laws, including an assessment of existing M-1 (industrial) zoned property
  • Evaluation of a potential historic district and/or equestrian overlay
  • Assessment of potential impacts to City services and infrastructure from proposed development and implementation of the Plan
