July 16th City Council Agenda Item: Burbank Tenant Protection Urgency Ordinance

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 6 PM the City of Burbank Community Development Department will be presenting an Ordinance for the Council’s consideration that would amend an existing urgency ordinance to establish a higher relocation assistance fee for no-fault just cause evictions.  

In addition, the Council will be considering a possible exemption for small landlord, and provisions on anti-retaliation to strengthen local tenant protection regulations.  If approved by the Council, this Ordinance will supersede the provisions contained in Burbank Tenant Protection Urgency Ordinance No. 23-3,999 that was approved by the Council on September 12, 2023. 

The City Council hearing will be streamed live on the Burbank Channel, Channel 6 on Spectrum and Channel 99 on AT&T, and YouTube. Community members can participate in the meeting by attending the hearing in-person or by calling 818-238-3335.
