The Parks and Recreation Department Is Re-Launching the RISE Program

Burbank, CA (September 16, 2024) – The City of Burbank Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the re-launch of the Residents Inspiring Service and Empowerment (RISE) Burbank program for the Class of 2025.  This announcement marks the official return of this popular leadership program after a three-year hiatus. 

RISE provides a wide range of opportunities for Burbank residents to enhance their leadership skills. This free ten-week program is designed to inspire leadership, empower residents, and foster constructive dialogue to invigorate civic engagement. Participants will broaden their understanding of the City and its resources while connecting them to City of Burbank officials, as well as local nonprofits and businesses.

Applications will be accepted from adults 18 years of age or older, including youth in their senior year of high school, who are committed to creating positive change in their communities through service and empowerment. Program sessions will be held every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., beginning February 19, 2025. The program will conclude with a graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

This is a volunteer program, and there is no fee to participate.

Applications open on Friday, September 20, and must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25.
