1867- Dr. David Burbank purchases Rancho La Providencia and a portion of Rancho San Rafael
1873 - Railroad comes to Burbank leading to tremendous growth
1911 - Burbank grows large enough to ask the state legislature for Incorporation
1916 - The first City Hall opens with Police and Fire also located in the building
1926 - First National Pictures & Warner Bros. moves to Burbank
1927 - Adoption of City Charter, allowing the City to form a Council-Manager form of government
1928 - Lockheed moves from Hollywood to Burbank
1930 - United Airport opens on Memorial Day weekend
1938 - Walt Disney Studios breaks ground in Burbank
1951 - Starlight Bowl opens with an original capacity of 2,500 people
1967 - Golden Mall opens on San Fernando Boulevard
