Renters Relocation Program
The Renters Relocation Program ended on August 29, 2024. For additional information, please reference the Burbank Tenant Protection Ordinance effective August 30, 2024

1. Interim Program Funding: $600,000 total; $500,000 to eligible participants and $100,000 for administration. Contract with Home Again Los Angeles (HALA).
Provides financial assistance for no-fault evictions. A no-fault eviction is a notice to vacate a housing unit due to no fault of the tenant. For example, this program would not cover an eviction notice for failure to pay rent or other lease violation.
2. Household Eligibility:
- Burbank Residents for at least one (1) year.
- Extremely-low to Moderate income households based on HCD published limits.
3. Financial Assistance: City of Burbank Median Rent (Changes Monthly)

- 2x Burbank Median Rent for Moderate-Income Households
- 3x Burbank Median Rent for Extremely-Low, Very-Low and Lower-Income Households
5. Funding Period:
- Program is first-come-first-served.
- Applies to no-fault evictions noticed on or after April 1, 2023.
- Must be expended during the eviction notice period (60 days) unless an extension is agreed upon in writing by tenant and landlord. Funding may be rescinded if a tenant fails to relocate during the eviction notice period/extension (if applicable).
- Tenants who moved based on a notice to vacate received on or after April 1, 2023, have 60 days from their move-out date to apply to the program.
- Program ends when funds run out or a permanent tenant protection/relocation program is adopted by the council.
6. Additional Assistance to Households: Housing navigation services to assist with locating suitable replacement housing.
7. Documentation Required in Addition to Application: The following documents will need to be submitted to the Home Again Los Angeles staff with a complete application to be considered for the Renter’s Relocation program.

- Copy of California Identification Card and Social Security card per adult in household
- Verification of Income for all adults in the household (CalWORKs, SSI, Unemployment, and/or 3 consecutive paycheck stubs)
- Complete bank statements for the last three months for all adults
- Official Notice to Vacate Provided by Landlord
- Copy of your lease with landlord who gave you the notice to vacate.
- Form W9
- Copy of the new lease
- Provide a copy of your new lease.
- Form W9
- Provide proof of payment
- Verification of credit towards rent (General Ledger from landlord)
