City of Burbank Unclaimed Monies

Welcome to the City of Burbank's Unclaimed Monies page. We are dedicated to ensuring that funds owed to residents, businesses, and other organizations are returned to their rightful owners. The City of Burbank regularly receives returned checks that are undeliverable by postal delivery. If you have conducted business with the City of Burbank or made payments for city services, you may have unclaimed funds waiting for you.

What Are Unclaimed Monies?

Unclaimed monies consist of checks issued by the City of Burbank that remain uncashed after six months.
These may include (but are not limited to):

  • Refunds for overpayments on services or fees
  • Vendor Payments
  • Utility Deposits

How to Search for Unclaimed Funds?

The City of Burbank regularly updates its Unclaimed Monies Report, which lists individuals and businesses with outstanding funds. You can review our current Unclaimed Monies report here. Search by your name or business name to determine if you are owed money.
Claiming Your Funds
If you find your name or business on the report, follow these simple steps to claim your funds:

 1.   Download and Complete the Claim Form

 2.   Attach Documentation

  • Include a copy of a valid government issued I.D. such as a copy of a driver’s license, social security card or birth certificate.
  • If claiming on behalf of a business, provide proof of authorization.
  • Amount of claim.

 3.   Submit Your Claim

  • Mail the completed form and documentation to:

Deadlines

Claims must be submitted within forty-five (45) days after the publication of the notice (Government Code Section 50051). After this period, unclaimed funds are transferred to the City’s General Fund as permitted by the Government Code and will no longer be available for claiming.
