Community Gardens create a space where people from every background can come together to share their love of gardening. Community Gardens transcend social barriers and are vibrant, cooperative spaces that build self-reliance, reduce poverty, mitigate global warming, provide safe recreational green spaces, and proven to reduce neighborhood crime.

The City of Burbank and the Los Angeles Community Garden Council (LACGC) are partnering in the development of two new Burbank Community Gardens. The community gardens are located at 1141 North Pass Avenue is now open, and the 3705 West Clark Avenue Garden will open in Spring 2024.

Our partnership with the LACGC will establish appropriate guidelines and volunteer roles to successfully launch and operate the community gardens. The LACGC, a 501 (c)3 non-profit, has extensive experience in developing community gardens throughout Los Angeles County. LACGC is now ready to use their experience towards helping Burbank develop, grow, and maintain healthy and vibrant community gardens.

City of Burbank Celebrate the Grand Opening of the Hollywood Way/Clark Community Garden

Burbank, CA (February 10, 2025) – The City of Burbank, in partnership with the Los Angeles Community Garden Council (LACGC), invites the community to celebrate the grand opening of the Hollywood Way/Clark Community Garden with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at 3705 West Clark Avenue, Burbank, CA. This event is free and open to the public.

Local supporters, volunteers, and city officials will gather to mark this milestone in community-driven sustainability, recognizing the partnership between the City of Burbank and LACGC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and maintaining urban green spaces.

A Day of Celebration and Community

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees are invited to participate in a variety of hands-on activities, including, planting new greenery, building garden beds, and spreading mulch. Volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves if they plan to participate. Additionally, children’s activities will be available, making this a family-friendly celebration. The Hollywood Way/Clark Community Garden will serve as a vital space for environmental education, urban agriculture, and community bonding, reinforcing Burbank’s dedication to sustainability and green initiatives.

Burbank Community Garden seeks to create a diverse and welcoming environment for people and the environment. We strive to build community by growing together. If you’re a beginner, join us! If you’re an experienced gardener and team builder, join us! Everyone is welcome to join.
