Ron Kriss

Artist Ron Kriss was born in Glendale, California. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Chouinard Art Institution in Los Angeles, California, and a master’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles.

His illustrations have graced record albums and CD Covers for most major recording companies. He is well known as a Film Poster Artist and his Editorial Illustrations have appeared in a wide range of quality publications including Playboy Magazine, Rolling Stone, and Psychology Today to name a few.
Ron Kriss has taught in the Art Departments of Cal State L.A. and Pasadena City College from 1989 to 2001. In 1995 Ron was hired as lead designer at GTE Mainstreet; America’s first interactive cable station where he designed show openings and interactive show modules, animations, and titles.

Ron has had a prolific career in the arts, marked by various exhibitions and collaborations. Notably, he created 40 murals for a Western financial institution. In 2004, he lent his talents to assisting Ignacio Gomez on a commemorative mural of Cesar E. Chavez. The following year, Ron participated in the "Revolutions" group show at the Forest Lawn Museum, showcasing his diverse artistic range.

In 2007, his work was featured in the "29 Artists" group exhibition at the Burbank Creative Arts Center Gallery, highlighting his presence within the artistic community. This momentum continued with a three-man show titled "Media Mix" in 2009, and in 2010 Ron was in a three-man show “Observations: Past and Present” at the Jose Vera Gallery, and in 2011 in a group show at Gallery 800 “Art Unites”.

Currently, Ron is channeling his creative energies into a series of fine art Surrealistic paintings featuring beautiful women, showcasing his exploration of the human form and imagination. Throughout his career, Ron has garnered recognition from esteemed institutions such as the Los Angeles Art Directors Club and the Society of Illustrators in both Los Angeles and New York, solidifying his reputation as a respected artist. As a freelance artist, Ron continues to accept illustration and mural assignments from leading design and architectural studios across the country, demonstrating his versatility and enduring passion for artistic expression.
